Why Camp is Important in Today’s World

   Camp News
We hope you and your family are safe, healthy and enjoying the end of the summer or the start of the new school year. We’re proud that we opened this past summer when so many other camps did not. Whether you were interested in camp for 2020, your camp did not open, or are just starting your search, Camp Wekeela has a home for everyone.
This summer, in the face of adversity. Camp Wekeela gave children a much needed outlet for pent-up energy and creativity. It gave our campers who had been isolated for months the chance to get back to nature, be outside and have some much needed normalcy return. We look ahead to summer 2021 and hope that your child will be a part of the Wekeela magic again.
Now you may ask, why did you open when so many other camps did not? For us, it was a deeply personal decision and one that did not come easily. We understood that camp is a place where the best comes out of people – where working together can be a source of light and strength. To say we had an easy summer would not be true. Through a lot of hard work, dedication, trust, and safety we pulled off our most incredible summer yet.
We invite you to learn more about or camp, program, staff, safety, and more and be a part of the Wekeela magic next summer.
Our Registration opens on Sept. 1 and we do anticipate our spaces to be limited.
Our campers needed camp this summer more than ever, and we are so thrilled we were able to provide them a safe haven in today’s world.
