HAPPY NEW YEAR PIONEERS! New Year’s Resolutions From Camp Wekeea!

   Camp News

Happy New Year Pioneers! There is so much excitement in-store for Wekeela 2018! We spend so many long hours and days planning, discussing, and enhancing every aspect of Wekeela to give our campers the best experience possible. While the East Coast of the United States is under a snowy-white blanket for the next few days, (Camp Wekeela is expected to get 12+ inches of snow!) we know that the warm days of summer are only a few short months away! The new Fitness Center project is well underway, as well as many other exciting projects to make Wekeela physically better and allows our expanding programming to offer more activities for our campers.

›Now that 2017 has come and gone and the Ball has dropped into 2018, we look back on last summer as a great success. We are excited to look forward to 2018 and have a lot planned in the next few months before the summer. Wekeela will be on the road to see campers and families, both returning and new, all over the world. We are excited to travel to California (Los Angeles and San Francisco), Maryland, Florida, Massachusetts, and even to Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels, as well as stay close to home in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. There is nothing better than seeing our Pioneers and re-connecting over the winter months, embracing in warm hugs that remind us all of our summer family.

The New Year is always about resolutions. We can all make resolutions to get healthier, sleep more, work harder, etc. At Wekeela we believe that everyone can make the same resolutions for the year of 2018. Our philosophy and culture at Wekeela is based on love, kindness, family, and fun. Our resolution for 2018 is not to be more of these things, but to pass them on in everyday life. In the world today, the best thing to pass on to others is love, kindness, family, and of course, fun. We implore our Pioneers to join us in this resolution and spread kindness. Going to summer camp helps each child to grow, learn, become independent, and have the time of their lives. Beginning this mindset of having fun and passing on kindness each day in January, will help to create the best possible environment at Wekeela in June. From our bunk to yours we wish you all the best in 2018!
