| Parents, grandparents
and siblings all are invited to join us at Camp Wekeela on Friday
July 23, 2004. While we do not encourage family visits on other
dates because of disruptions to camper schedules, we can make
alternate date arrangements for parents unable to attend on
Visitors' Day. Contact our office to make schedule arrangements.
Visitors' Day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
We ask that you bring cabin gifts only for your own child. If you bring food, it should only be enough for consumption during Visitors' Day and that evening. Any food left over at day's end will be donated to a local charity.
Also, please honor our strict no-Tipping policy at Camp Wekeela.
Morning Schedule
When you arrive at Camp Wekeela, you will receive your child's activity schedule, giving you a first-hand view of a typical day for your camper. Your child likely will appreciate the chance to show you some of his/her newly acquired skills. At the conclusion of our morning activities, join us for a buffet lunch.
Afternoon Schedule
The remainder of the day is devoted to enjoying activities with your camper. There also will be opportunity for your child to show you around camp, including his/her bunk, and to introduce new friends and camp counselors. Be sure to bring bathing suits and tennis gear, so that you can fully participate in any activities your child chooses.
ANNUAL POST VISITORS' DAY DINNER
We encourage parents to join us Friday evening after Visitors day for a Wekeela tradition: cocktails, lobster and other delectables at Eli's at Turner Highlands. Just minutes from camp. It's a great way to mingle and converse with parents.
Overnight Accommodations
If you have not done so already, we encourage you to make lodging arrangements immediately. The hotels and inns mentioned below are less than an hour's drive to camp, with the exception of Portland, Maine. Portland is approximately 1.5 hours away.
